How to Start Your First Workout Plan

Learn how to find and start a workout plan in the HHF app, and what to do if you only see a Follow or Unfollow button.

You're about to start your first workout plan - exciting! Starting a plan adds all your workouts to your calendar so you can track your progress and follow along day by day.

Here's how to get started (takes about 1-2 minutes).

Quick Start Guide

To start a workout plan:

  1. Open the app and tap the Plans tab at the bottom

  2. Find your plan using one of these methods:

    • Tap the search icon (magnifying glass) in the top right and type the plan name

    • Tap My Plans to see plans you've purchased

      Look for plans with version numbers like "Power Happens 1.0 Beginner" or "Shred Happens 2.0 Intermediate" - these have the Start Plan button.

      Avoid plans without version numbers like "Power Happens Spring 2025" - these are calendars and only have Follow/Unfollow buttons

  3. Tap on the plan you want to start

  4. Tap the Start Plan button at the bottom of the screen

  5. Follow the prompts to:

    • Select your start date

    • Choose your workout schedule

    • Set up notifications

βœ… Success! Your plan is now added to your calendar and you're ready to start your first workout!

Common Questions

I Only See Follow/Unfollow - Where's Start Plan?

No worries - you're on the calendar instead of the workout plan.

To find your workout plan: Go back to the Plans tab and search for the version with a number like "Power Happens 1.0 Beginner" instead of just "Power Happens Spring 2025"

My Plan Isn't Showing on My Calendar

Try closing the app completely and reopening it. This refreshes your calendar and should display your scheduled workouts.

I Started the Wrong Level

If you accidentally started Beginner instead of Intermediate (or vice versa), you can pause the current plan and start the correct one. Go to Plans β†’ Following β†’ tap your plan β†’ Pause or Edit Plan.


What Happens Next?

Once you start your plan:

  • Your workouts appear on your calendar - Open the Calendar tab to see your scheduled workouts

  • You can start logging workouts - Check out Getting Started: Your First Workout for how to log your first workout

  • Your plan continues until complete - The app will schedule all your workouts according to the timeline you selected
